Description: Donnovan Beckford, Director of the Westchester-Putnam WIB, has generously offered to host us so that we may continue the veterans employment discussion at his offices.
Historically, events designed to target veterans searching for work and job training have been poorly attended. We're seeking new ways to connect those of you who work with veterans who need employment with those of you at the organizations who are in touch with employers and opportunities that would really like to hire them.
If you are on either side of this equation - this meeting is for you.
If you work with veterans who are looking for employment, training or other employment seeking assistance please be prepared to discuss:
- How many people seeking employment/training are you in contact with/aware of
- Their areas of expertise/current skills
- Your current methods of connecting them with employment resources
If you work with employers, job banks and/or other entities who are training or hiring veterans please be prepared to discuss:
- How many jobs openings you are aware of through your resources
- What type of jobs they are
- What type of training or education the jobs require
- Your current methods of seeking applicants/new hires/trainees
